What is our Hackathon about?
A healthcare hackathon is an event in which people with diverse perspectives such as clinicians, engineers, designers, software developers, business people, and patients come together in an intense, fun-filled, three-day weekend to develop and build solutions that could address challenges facing healthcare today. Participants will form teams, collaborate within a limited time frame, and focus on a specific problem or idea in healthcare to come up with innovative ideas and solutions.
Requirements
Final presentations are due as a 3-minute YouTube video and/or narrated PowerPoint!
3 min pitch + 2 min Q&A
We recommend:
~1 min: background and presentation of unmet need
~1 min: description of proposed solution
~1 min: explanation of business plan & team member backgrounds. (In the interest of time, not all team members need to speak)
*There will be 2 rounds of judging in this Hackathon.
1. There will be a semi-finalist judging session that will take place with a group of 8 semi-final judges as the first round. The process will include the decision of which 8-10 teams will move onto the final presentations. This judging session will not be public.
2. The final presentation judging session will take place publicly in front of a panel of 6-8 final judges with the opportunity of a 2-minute Q&A with the judges. After the final presentations are finished, the final judges will then privately deliberate and chose the top 4 winning teams.
